Conscious of the unprecedented times we’re now facing, I was inspired to put my anxious energy toward something more fruitful and hopeful for myself, family and friends.

I decided to make a virtual care package to share with my loved ones. It started off as some bullet points in my notes - then it transformed into a really pretty powerpoint…but it still didn’t feel interactive enough. At the same time, I realized that other people, besides my friends and family, may benefit from some of the activities within the package. So I decided to build out a landing page to easily share it.

I’m hoping that the few activities within this “virtual care package” will allow a bit of space for some internal peace, growth and gratitude…or just give you something to do! lol

Let’s use this time to grow, all while helping and praying for those most vulnerable.

One cause I’m supporting during this time is Black Feminist Susu. If you are in need or able to support, please check them out!

FOODIEEEE

Here are a few snacks/food options that take little to no time to make. Some may require you to take a quick run to the grocery, but they’ll last for a while. Just click the image to access the video tutorials. Also, if you want to look for more healthy/vegan recipe options check out: https://thebigmansworld.com

ANY STYLE EGG ROLLS

I know what you’re thinking, but trust me, getting some egg roll wraps will turn your leftovers up. I’ve put caramelized plantains in eggrolls, caramelized apples, leftover chicken salads, cheesesteak, you name it! Just pair it with a tasty sauce and voila! You can find these in produce section at any grocery store.

ANY STYLE FRIED RICE

Fried rice can last a long ass time! My fav homemade rendition is either chicken or salmon fried rice. Here are a bunch of different recipes to check out!

VEGAN BROWNIES

Okay, not the healthiest option LOL, but brownies warm the heart and we all deserve something sweet during quarantine. This is a new vegan recipe I’ve tried – check it out!

PS: My cousin recently showed me a cooking app that gives you cooking/baking ideas based on the ingredients you already have in your house! Perfect for a time like this. Check it out.

WHAT TO WATCH!

I absolutely love TV & Film. I love anything that can bring out some emotion (I’m a Cancer…that’s what we do), but I also love to laugh at some silly shit.

Here are some new + old favorites that I recommend watching. Also…shameless plug, if you haven’t already watched my short film, #MCM, do that! link below :)

THE PLATFORM

This is a great movie to watch if you’re into psychological thrillers. The story provides a nice allegory to the inherit evilness behind capitalism. Disclaimer: Graphic Content

LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE

This is my new favorite show. If you’re into deep, thought-provoking, and sometimes triggering dramas, this is a good one.

WORKIN’ MOMS

This is some silly shit. You will literally cry while watching. Highly recommend.

SEE

This is a great post-apocalyptic / alternate universe series on apple. Apple only produces fire content so yeah, watch it.

THE BANKER

Amazing historical film. Just watch it.

TWENTIES

This is a new show on BET that I’ve been absolutely loving. Very nuanced, yet highly relatable to any young Black creative trying to make it.

#MCM

This is my baby, my short film, a new-age romantic comedy. Super relatable, Black, and millennial focused. Watch it here!

Introducing:

QUARANTINE &VIBE

for best “&VIBE” results – pair with a glass of cabernet and a quaranting…or house chore like washing dishes :)

MY FAVORITE PODCASTS

I listen to all sorts of podcasts, but I am particularly into introspective and healing podcasts.

My favorite is Oprah’s “Super Soul” Series. But on a long drive, I like to listen to Amanda Seales’ self help podcast, “Small Doses”.  They are two completely different vibes, but they offer comfort and knowledge, as well as reflection on ways we can grow to better ourselves. Check out a few of my favorite episodes!

21 QUESTIONS

With social distancing in place, it might seem challenging to nurture your friendships/relationships through real conversation. But have no fear – 21 Thoughtful Question is here!

Here are 21 questions to ask someone via Facetime …Choose someone you want to grow closer to and/or learn more about. Don’t forget you have to answer the questions too!

PS: This game goes really well with a glass of wine! (:
